and the hubby and I will be on a plane flying to Disney World for marathon week!!!
Sunday morning at 8:05AM could not get here soon enough. We have been unbelievably stressed out with both work drama, sickness (my hubby was rushed to the emergency dept last Thursday sicker than I have ever seen him in our 8.5 years together), and we are finally starting to feel somewhat normal from our failed adoption 3 weeks ago. Life needs to get back on track, and what better way to rejuvenate than to start over after a wonderful trip away from reality?
Believe it or not, my man and I have never ever been on a plane together. All our trips or vacations have been excursions we can drive to or overnight dates downtown Minneapolis or St. Paul. For us to fly to Disney World, do the whole stay-on-site resort business, have DW pick us up and our luggage at the airport and just live large for 7 days is HUGE for us. I could not be more excited. And he’s never been to the land of Mickey Mouse, so I’m excited to be a kid again with him for the first time. It may not be your first choice for a get-away with your spouse, but for us, we are looking forward to just being entertained while spending quality time together. Oh! And I get to run a pretty huge bucket-list half marathon while I’m there too!
My BFF, L-Jo and clan are coming down as well to race and I get to run with my RUNNING COACH, the Almighty and All-Knowing SpeedySasquatch! BAM! Fun times are ahead.
Oh you guys this is so needed. SO SO needed. Yes, I’m capitalizing a bunch of words. I’m pumped up.
With that being said, I appear to be slowly getting my running mo-jo back. 2013 I will be approaching running in an entirely different mindset. I have no other choice, but just deciding upon this has made me feel so much more relieved and relaxed. I plan on focusing a ton more on strength and attempting to not find my “self-worth” as a runner in times, and not coming unglued for days at a time if I have a bad run. It’s time to revamp the psyche. I’m tired of competing against my brain and losing every time. I have the power to overcome it.
Although I will say this…I wouldn’t be too upset if I PR’d the half marathon this year. Just sayin.
So that’s the plan. I look forward to sharing more about this process with you as we go through 2013.
What’s your goals for this year?
