Oh bondi bands, how I love thee! – A GIVEAWAY!

About a year ago I kept hearing about these awesome head bands called “bondi bands” that a lot runners just can’t seem to live without. I was looking for something to keep my bangs out of my face and my hair from flying all over the place while working out and going on runs. I purchased my first bondi band and was hooked immediately.

I am a HUGE fan. They stay in place, they wick away moisture and come in some really AWESOME patterns and styles. Did I mention that they’re really not expensive at all?

The awesome people of Bondi Band have sent me a lycra band to review and 1 to give away to a lucky reader!!! I absolutely love the one they sent! I wore mine for a hard work out last night at the gym. My hair didn’t budge and it kept the sweat from dripping. It’s AWESOME!

Here’s the one a lucky reader will be getting. The pattern is called “Random Thought:”

It’s simple really…please leave a comment below and tell me what’s 1 thing you hope to accomplish through diet or exercise this coming year in 2012! The giveaway  ends THIS SUNDAY NIGHT (1/8/12) at 11:59 PM CST. A winner will be chosen at random and announced on Monday 1/9.

GOOD LUCK! And thanks for entering!

The Federal Trade Commission mandates that I let you know Bondi Band  provided me with this product free of charge, however, the opinions expressed are those solely that of my own.

I really like that print! I hope to FINALLY get back down to my “happy weight” and stay there this year. I was only 5 lbs away at the beginning of December, so it’s definitely doable. I’m also training for my first full marathon

  2. Sand says:

i hope to accomplish lots and lots of running miles! Hopefully, 26.2 strung together….

  3. Alice Girton says:

love love love love my Bondi Bands!!! I have several, though my teenage daughter has managed to take a couple and call her own!
My goal for 2012 is to train so that I am half marathon ready all the time. Not real sure how to get there but I am currently training for a half in May – the Joplin Memorial Half Marathon (used to be Boomtown days and held in June but because of events on May 22 2011 they have changed it to honor those who lost their lives) and then the Mother Road Half in October! I don’t focus on my weight or a number on the scale but how I feel and look to me! I have some sever diet restrictions so “dieting” really isn’t my thing, eating healthy for me is my goal!

  4. Christine :) says:

Would love to try these!!! I wear hearing aids so it is important for me to keep as much sweat off my face.!!! My goals this year are to finish my first MARATHON!!! Along with that I would love to tone up more and to get my family more involved in fitness :)

  5. Megan W. says:

I love bondi bands! They are great for managing my bangs and generally unruly hair :)

I’m aiming to PR in both the full and half marathons this year and stay mostly injury free (save for what I have now) while doing it!

  6. elle dubya says:

My hair is all one length to my chin. Just long enough to stay in my face, but not long enough for any sort of ponytail. I NEED this Bondi Band!!

My #1 goal for 2012 can be summed up in one word: STRENGTH. Strengthen my body, strengthen my familie ties, strengthen my relationship with Christ, strengthen my emotional state in attitudes and positive thinking. Total STRENGTH.

  7. Melissa Koprowicz says:

I want to add more upper body strength for the Warrior Dash we will be running on July 1, 2012. After that my second goal is to train for and finish a 1/2 marathon. I love running and love how it has brought me closer to my friends and family. Of course it’s always fun to win something useful. I sweat like there’s not tomorrow so this would be very useful.

  8. Katy says:

I want to maintain my weight loss this year and run two half marathons!

  9. Dana says:

I would like to try a bondi band :)
My goal for 2012 is to continue to train and improve the pace of my runs.

  10. h20lillys says:

My goals are to run a half marathon in under 2 hours… I also want to increase my upper body strength and overall toneing up…
YAY– a bondi band would be great for keeping my sweat soaked hair out of my eyes.. and when sweat gets in your eyes it burns….

  11. Oh oh oh I want to play along!! – I hope to run a half marathon and get my weight back down some :/

  12. JenD says:

I could definitely use a bondi band–my hair is crazy when I run! Goals for this year? Increase distance, mostly…I’d like to be able to comfortably run a 10k and then we’ll see from there…basically, I’m too chicken to commit to a half :)

  13. craftycritter says:

To be you! No, seriously. To maintain my current will power so I can finally lose weight to be healthy. And to actually be able to run. Like you I avoided it in HS, I freely admit to taking advantage of the doctor’s note I had that technically said I didn’t have to run if my feet hurt. I twisted it so I didn’t have to run. It’s a very good thing life is not a horror movie because I would so be dead. I wouldn’t be able to run away from the knife carrying ax murderer.

  14. Kelly C says:

My 2012 goals are to run 2 more 1/2 marathons and hopefully beating my time each race. My offical training starts Feb for a May 1/2 but I would like to lose 20 lbs before May cause I think that will really help with my time. I do exercise 5-6 days a week now but I really need to eat cleaner. But my biggest goal is to do a marathon in October! OMG i feel nausous everytime I think about it but very excited too LOL :)

  15. Debby H says:

Thanks for the chance to win!! My goal… to lose the last 40 lbs to reach my goal!

  16. Natalie says:

I want to run a half marathon with my brother! I started running in 2011 and am currently training for my first half. By November, I want both of us to complete a half marathon. I think it will be a great experience!. And a Bondi Band would be great for training!! Thanks so much!!!

  17. Sonya McNamara says:

I LOVE Bondi Bands!! My goal for the year is to also be half marathon ready all the time. I just started running about 15 months ago and did my first half in October. I did the Polar Dash 10K and will be doing the Get Lucky half. Being signed up for races really helps my daily motivation!

  18. I love all the colors of this Bondi!

In 2012 I’m getting to goal weight and improving my 5K time by 10 mins by the end of the summer.

  19. brandy says:

For me I plan on losing weight in 2012 (finally) and log in 1300 miles this year (25 miles a week). ;)

  20. Stephanie says:

I want to finish a half marathon. And lose 40-80 pounds along the way.

  21. Tanya Cooper says:

One if my fitness goals is to increase my 5k and 10 k running times!

  22. Melissa Lea says:

My goal for 2012 is to lose 40lbs. Also, complete my 1st marathon.

  23. CandiceJ says:

    1 thing I hope to accomplish….hmm, I did a couple 5K’s last year so I’m looking forward to a 10K this year. :)

  24. Dori says:

I’ve love to win! My crazy frizzy hair needs to be tapered down somehow! LoL

  25. Cassandra says:

My goal for this year is a 50k and a 50 miler. I’m so excited 2012, the year of Ultras!!

  26. Lynsey says:

I heart bondi bands. I don’t go a run without one.
My goal is to run a sub 2 hour half marathon. My 2nd goal is to focus more on cross training…achieving goal #2 should help me to get to goal #1. :)

  27. I have wanted to try bondi bands! My main goal this year is to run a half marathon. I just started running last January. I am 52 years old and thought, “If not now, when?” So I started the Couch to 5k program and LOVED it! I have run a 3k, several 5ks, an 8k and am signed up for a 10k at the end of this month. Tonight I just ran 5k in 30 minutes even. I was so happy, it’s my best time ever! When I look back and see how far I have come, how it took me forevvvvvvver to run 1 mile and how I thought I was too old to ever get any faster,or go farther, or run in a race — all I can say is: People! Don’t let your fears and doubts hold you back! You can do anything you set your mind to!! Go for it!!!

  28. Lisa says:

First of all, I love Bondibands as well! Since I have just run my first half marathon I now want to train toward running a full marathon and lose the rest of my weight! Thanks for the contest!

  29. Jennifer Alford says:

I want to run my first 1/2 marathon this year. I’d love to try this kind of headband. Last year I had a time keeping the sweat out of my face and eyes!

  30. Suzi says:

I love Bondi Bands, and I’m so excited to hear the Lyrcra ones work great!

I haven’t entirely fleshed out my 2012 goals, but I have 12.5 pounds to go to what I think is my next (maybe final) goal weight, and I AM going to get there this year!! I’d like to increase my endurance and speed while running, but not ready to throw my hat at a half quite yet.

  31. Michelle says:

I have been looking for something to look better in my hair than the mess I have going on now! I have always wanted to try these Bondi Bands!
Goals for the year include eating less sugar in my diet, and running my first ultra. I am thankful for running friends and running blogs that help keep me motivated.

  32. blondelovestorun says:

My major goal this year is to stay injury free, so that I can continue to run. I also want to tone up a little more than I am, and try a half marathon.

  33. Leah L. says:

2012, I think this is the first year that I’ve decided I want to get in shape to be healthy, because I’m tired of not being able to walk a mile without being out of breath. My 8 month old son is going to need a healthy mommy to be able to keep up, and I think it’s up to me (not any fancy diet pills, weight loss supplements, or fancy shmancy at-home workout equipment) to make sure he has that. I have medium length hair and HATE how when I’m sweating my hair gets in my face, so this would be perfect!

  34. Colleen says:

I love my bondi bands!! My fitness goal for 2012 is to walk/run 20 miles per week and complete 4 half marathons and a couple of 10km runs!

  36. MY FIRST MARATHON!!!!!!!!! EEEEKKK!!!!

  37. Amber Slagle says:

I hope to be able to run my First 5k as well as lose some weight and be more physically fit!

  38. Anje says:

    1. Run my second half marathon and have much better results than the first time.
    2. Eat healthier and get to a healthier weight!

  39. brenda says:

Getting ready for my first half marathon and other than a hat I have found no other headbands to stay in placed and not slip during running. The last thing I was to worry about is my hair during a run. these peoducts have great reviews I just want to try one and I am sure I will be hooked. sent several emails to find it if any local stores sell them or any discounts available online.

  40. Sherry Rini says:

Just started running a few months ago….I want to run a half marathon by the end of the year!

  41. Maria Wilson says:

So I know I’m super late for the free one but curious…do ya think they could keep an afro in place?
